Dear Alumni:

The year 2006 has been good to Camp Eberhart. The camp staff has worked very hard to see that camp remains one of the very best resident camps in the entire country. The Alumni Association would like to thank everyone on the camp staff for their hard work and dedication.

Your Alumni Association was also very good to camp this year because of your donations. Here are just some of the things we accomplished this year: Contributed to final construction of the Hay Barn, had tree’s trimmed around camp, contributed over $14,000 for ongoing road work and the reconstruction of the Athletic Field, purchased 2 Garmin GPS units for outdoor education, improved many of the camp facilities, purchased a new bugle scheduling program, contributed to a full time Astronomy-in-Residence Program Head, Dave’s House Astronomy Classroom construction (in addition to the Yarger family contribution), purchased a new Riding Mower for Maintenance, paid for extensive repairs to camp truck, purchased a new computer for camp along with software for Photography Program, paid to have Klinger Hall electrical upgraded . . . and much more. To date, over $75,000.00 in camp improvements. All because of your efforts and contributions.

But, 2007 brings more challenges and more needs. We will have to do construction on all the stone cabins to bring them up to date with new State of Michigan regulations. More road work needs to be done, many other important repairs for the cabins and the bathrooms are needed. Program area’s are in need of equipment, security needs to be updated for the entire camp. . . . . it’s not just pranks anymore. We need the help!

Please join the Alumni Association for 2007 by making your tax exempt contribution to the Camp Eberhart Alumni Association, 316 South Eddy Street, South Bend, IN 46617. Minimum dues this year are $40.00 with the hope that you will contribute more. With that being said, don’t forget the Alumni Associations Brick Project or the book produced by Pat McGann. (See the camp web site - campeb.org - for more information.) There are plenty of ways to contribute, but we need you to pick one of them if camp is to continue moving forward.

Please join Alumni Association won’t you? But, there’s one more thing you can do to help. Get ONE more alumni to join. You really could help camp if you could help us expand our member base.
