Ed
Levy started coming to camp as a 6 year old in 1954. He spent a few summers
as a counselor in the Riflery program, and was business manager for the camp before graduating college.
After college, Ed started
teaching elementary school in South Bend. Ed loved camp so much that he thought
he could somehow add a camp experience to his classroom curriculum... and the
Eberhart Outdoor Education program was born.
Ed
and his wife Susie honeymooned at camp, two of their four daughters went to camp,
and were staff members at camp. In fact one daughter later became the Director of the Outdoor
Education program that Ed started before she was born.
Ed is a very savvy businessman and has been a continuous driving force in camp's growth and development. He joined the Board of Directors in 1971, and served as the Chairman of the Board for almost 10 years.
Ed, the Camp EB staff and campers - past present, and future - owe you a huge debt. You are a great part of camp. You embody a link from the past to the future, ensuring that thousands more children will come to EB and make memories that last a lifetime. There is no way that we could ever thank you enough, so please understand - Camp EB just wouldn't be Camp EB without you.
We appreciate you more than we can express... Thank you.
